Governance and Quality Manager – Full or Part time hours will be considered


CARE Birmingham is a fertility clinic with an excellent reputation for patient care and results, offering world class advanced technologies. It is our multi-disciplinary team working which makes us so successful; we strive to continually improve our clinical, operational and quality management standards as a local team and as a national group. Ours is a heavily regulated environment and CARE Fertility sets the bar high, we aim to be innovative in everything we do, including our quality management approaches.


As Quality Manager (QM) for the clinic, you will be responsible for leading on quality management and will work closely with the local team, the Group’s Director of Governance and Quality and the QMs in the other CARE clinics to set the standards and monitor to improve performance further. At CARE Fertility quality management is intrinsic in all that we do and as a result we enjoy high levels of engagement from our workforce who value and appreciate the quality management systems we have in place.


CARE Birmingham has created its first QM post, having previously been undertaken by the Laboratory Manager. Therefore this is an exciting opportunity to make the role your own. Job Requirements


  • Clinical governance


  • Developing and implementing a quality management framework


  • Managing and investigating complaints and incidents


  • Experience of working within the healthcare sector


  •  Experience of working within the Fertility industry



  • Certificate in Quality Management


  • Practitioner grade membership with the CQI


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, a Biological Science or relevant field



  • Able to influence change and drive continuous improvement


  • Excellent IT skills


  • Organised and able to prioritise a varied and sometimes complex workload


  • Analytical, with the ability to interpret and present data

Interpersonal Skills


  • Passion for service excellence and improving quality


  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, over the telephone and in writing


  • Able to work with members of staff from all levels in the organisation


  • Able to work effectively as part of a broad, multidisciplinary team


  • Persistent and able to follow tasks through to their conclusion





  • An understanding and appreciation of patient confidentiality


  • An understanding of the purpose and principles of relevant CQC legislation



  • An understanding of the purpose and principles of the HFEA Code of Practice
